Terms & Conditions

Payment accepted by cash, Paypal or Google Checkout. Orders received after 13:00 with cleared payment are usually dispatched next working day (subject to stock). We will not substitute your order for similar products if your requested item is unavailable but will contact you to make other arrangements.

You have the right to return any goods ordered by mail order for a full refund within seven days of receipt of the item. You must confirm your intention to return the item in writing or by email within the specified seven-day period and please ensure the goods are returned unused and in their original condition and packaging.

We offer a 90-day warranty period on all new audio valves covering manufacturing defects. This warranty covers "normal usage" and does not cover accidental damage, cracking to the glass envelope by impact or other misuse, damage to the valve by installation in faulty equipment or non-standard equipment, which subject the valve to excessive voltage or current. In the case of a return under warranty please inform us in writing or by email of the perceived fault and return the goods to our address with their original packaging and a copy of your receipt for a full refund.

Second Hand and Vintage Equipment

Three month limited return to base warranty offered on all second hand equipment. This warranty will cover:

  • Faults caused during normal use of the amplifier for the purposes which it was originally designed or uses described by The Maughan Amplifier Company
  • Valves described as New in the equipment description when purchased from The Maughan Amplifier Company

The warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage.
  • Faults/damage described in the product listing (these are often a design limitation of the amplifier or due to age i.e slight scratchy pots/slight mains hum etc.).
  • Cosmetic marks to vintage equipment, which does not affect the performance of the equipment and are not mentioned in the description (scuffs, minor scratches, minor tears to grille cloth etc.).
  • Damage caused by dropping, impact, collision, water or liquid ingress.
  • Damage by use other than that which the amplifier was originally designed for.
  • Damage caused by faulty or incorrect impedance of or incorrectly used external speaker.
  • Damage caused by incorrect input or faulty leads other than those supplied by The Maughan Amplfier Company.

Please note that vintage equipment by its nature contains older components and whilst every care is taken to ensure that equipment is reliable some component failures may occur. Please also pay great attention to the item description when considering a purchase.
